MISSION
The Law Enforcement Division proudly supports the U.S. Army
Military Police Law and Order Mission and the missions of the
Garrison Commander. Garrison
Commander and the Directorate of Emergency Services through the
application of the three missions outlined on our crest. We PROTECT
the community through our proactive law enforcement efforts such
as random patrolling, identification and registration checks at
the gates, and safety/sobriety checkpoints. We ASSIST
the community with enthusiastic Military Police support for local
events both on and off the installation. This support includes
bike rodeos and safety training, McGruff, D.A.R.E., and many
other protection resources. And finally, we DEFEND
our community through our ability to immediately implement
increased security measures designed to deter terrorist and
criminal activities.

How can I get a copy of a police report?
The Police Admin Section is open from 7am to 5pm, weekdays. You
can call them direct at (706) 791-4278. Traffic Accident cases
are normally ready as a final report within 10 working days.
Cases requiring detailed investigation (robbery, larceny, etc.)
may take as long as 30 days. Insurance companies requiring copies
of reports can call or mail requests to:
Directorate of Public Safety
Attn: Police Admin
29717 B Street
Fort Gordon, Georgia 30905
There is no charge for these reports.
Where do I go to pay my traffic ticket?
There are three kinds of citations issued on Fort Gordon. The
first is DD Form 1805. These citations are paid by mailing
payment to:
U.S. Courts CVB (S.A.)
P.O. Box 740026
Atlanta, Georgia 30374-0026
The other two kinds of citations, DD Form 1408 and FG Form 9261,
are forwarded to the offender's Battalion Commander/Director for
action. There is no specific fine associated with these
citations.
We have a problem with speeders in our neighborhood. What
can we do about it?
Call the MP Operations Sergeant at 791-9289 and
request that this area be placed on selective enforcement.
Can the MPs help me if I lock the keys inside my car?
Yes, but the tool used by the MPs often can damage the lock of
the vehicle, especially cars with power locks. The MP will
require you to sign a statement releasing the MP and the Army of
liability before we can open the car. If you do not want to sign
the statement or the MP can't get your vehicle open we can call a
locksmith for you.
Someone has abandoned a junk car in my housing area. Can
the MPs tow it away?
Yes. Call the MP Desk Sergeant and give the location and
description of the vehicle. An MP will come and place an
abandoned vehicle notice on the car. If after 72 hours the owner
has not been located to move the vehicle, a contract wrecker
service will remove the vehicle and dispose of it.
I'm going away on vacation. Can the MPs check on my
quarters?
Yes. Call the MP Desk Sergeant to arrange for a security check of
your home. He will ask a series of questions to help us best
protect your property while you are gone. Also please be sure to
contact the desk as soon as you return.
Why does the desk sergeant ask so many questions when I
call?
Desk Sergeants and dispatchers are trained to try and get as much
information as possible to best determine the nature of the
problem and its seriousness. Since we dispatch police, fire and
ambulance units he has to be sure that he sends all of the
necessary units to the scene. On emergency calls, the dispatcher
has already sent the MPs while he is still gathering information.
