National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is intended to identify significant environmental effects of proposed programs, projects and actions. These effects will be considered in the decision process along with technical, economic, and other necessary factors. DA will carry out the mission of national security in a manner consistent with NEPA and other applicable environmental standards, laws, and policies. The most recent DA policy and guidance on NEPA implementation went into effect on 28 Mar 02 and is found in AR 200-2. This document is provided in Portable Document Format (PDF).
Fort Gordon uses the NEPA process to ensure that mission requirements are accomplished while complying with all environmental, natural and cultural resources laws and regulations.
