How do I get orders to Fort Gordon?

All requests for orders whether for permanent party or a particular course will start at your present unit.  The Marine Corps Detachment has no impact on the decisions of your Chain of Command or those of Headquarters Marine Corps.  Your unit or the monitor will assist you in receiving orders once you have been selected to come to Fort Gordon.  Any further questions can be directed to the Chief Instructor at DSN 780-8244.

Where can I find information on the Mobile Training Teams?

The Mobile Training Teams (MTT's) are available at the request of the unit.  The MTT's availability is based on instructor availability, and the MTT's are funded completely by the requesting unit.  For further information or to request an MTT contact the Commanding Officer, SNCOIC, or Chief Instructor.

Why isn't my IMOS changing?

Your Intended Military Occupational Specialty (IMOS) should be updated upon receipt of orders or approval to make a Lateral Move.  If this does not happen, you will need to contact your unit's administrative section to begin the process to accurately show your IMOS.  This is ultimately done by HQMC by the monitor.  You can have your Section Head contact the monitor directly also.

What can I expect when I arrive at Fort Gordon?

Coming to Fort Gordon is no different than reporting to any other Marine Corps Unit.  The majority of your questions can be answered here.  You WILL be given a physical fitness test and body composition evaluation within one week of arriving.  If you are not within standards, there is a possibility of you being returned to your parent command immediately.  All other reporting questions can be forwarded to the Admin Chief or Chief Instructor..
